Arizona Diamondbacks

I started with Arizona as a starting point going in alphabetical order staring with the national league. I contacted them by using mlb.com, going to the team page and then hitting the contact us link. I choose other and the sent them an email. This was the message that I sent.

Arizona Diamondbacks,

I am a huge fan of major league baseball and have declared myself a free agent for the off season.

This means that I am available to all teams in major league baseball to become a fan.

This is what I have to offer. I have been a baseball fan for my entire life. I understand the game and follow it even during the off season. I am willing to go to see a baseball team at home or on the road and I buy MLB merchandise.

I will watch your team on TV and listen to them on the radio. I will bleed Arizona colors and speak the praises of your team wherever I go.

All I ask in return is to not be passed up like most fans of in recent years. I want to be appreciated and know that my team puts the fans first and will be grateful for what I bring to the team.

Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you,

James

My Background

Born and raised in Massachusetts I am a die hard Boston Red Sox fan. I have been with them since 1975 and lived through the tough times and the curse of the bambino.

I celebrated with Henderson against the Angels and cried the same year when game six against the Mets happened.

I know what Morgan Magic is.

I watched the Sox do well just to fall to the A's every year in the late 80's

I have watched the Yankees thrive when we have not and am the first to properly pronounce Aaron Boone's middle name as bleeping for the PG 13 crowd.

I have also thrived with recent great run and the greatest moment in my fan career is when we came back against the Yankees and Dave Roberts will forever be one of my favorite players because of it.

This year I am a free agent. I would like to resign with the Red Sox as a fan but will look at every team in baseball to see what they have to offer. I am just looking for one thing in a major league baseball team, someone that appreciates the fan!

Why this site?

I love baseball, and everything about it. The problem is the game is being taken away from the fan. There are stadiums are being renamed for companies and sold to the highest bidder, and with it goes history. Is there a price on history? I doubt it and you have to change with the times, but what about the fan?

I don't blame the player. They hold for crazy amounts of money because they can and it’s out there. I say go get it. C.C. Sabathia is the best pitcher in the free agent market and I want him to get paid. All free agents are a product of the system. If your job let you have a chance at millions you would take it too.

MLB gets companies to sponsor everything from stadiums to jerseys and what does the fan get? Higher ticket prices, pay per view baseball, and ludicrous prices for jersey's hats and more. The players get paid, the teams get paid and the management gets paid, but the fan he pays. When it comes to higher ticket prices, the fan pays, when it comes to new stadiums the fan pays. So where does it stop?

Stop going to games to save money and you don't watch your team. The fan is in a lose/lose situation.

I officially announce myself as a free agent.

I am going to email every MLB team, the commissioner and anyone who will listen and see what team would like me as a fan.

We are all free agents and I invite others to follow suit.

It’s time to bring the game back to the fan.
